Magnetic Levitation System High School Course Notes

This manual has been created by the author as both a blueprint and complete content source for High School Teachers who are delivering an Introduction to 21st-Century Engineering course primarily to high school seniors. It consists of 40 sessions to be covered in 8 weeks (5 sessions per week) that take the teacher from an introduction to engineering to the construction of a computer-controlled magnetic levitation system. The key feature is the integration of mathematics and physics with the physical hardware (electromagnet, electronics, sensors, microcontroller) in what is called model-based design, the key to modern engineering practice.
